About this board
Winter Texan RV Forum started in September 2025 because the big RV boards have a Winter Texan corner that is mostly the same three questions and a lot of people who have never been south of Waco answering them. this one is only the Valley and the coast, only the people who come down for the season, and the rigs they come down in. if you summer in Bemidji and winter in Alamo, this is your board. if you are shopping for a coach to do that in, also your board.
it is run by Carol B., who spent 26 years in the front office of a middle school in McAllen and six winters as a park host in Alamo before that stopped being a side job. she goes by mod_carol_b on the boards, answers the contact address herself, and is slow about it the week the parks fill up in november.
Who pays for it
Carol does, out of pocket, and it costs about as much as a tank of gas a month. no park, dealer, auction or manufacturer pays for anything here and none of them gets a say in what stays up. if that ever changes it will say so on this page.
House rules
- be decent. most of us are retired and nobody needs a fight before coffee.
- on the coach board, put the chassis year and model in the title. a 2004 V10 and a 2019 V10 get different answers.
- say what you paid. rates, repairs, coaches. a report with no number in it is a story.
- no selling in threads. there is no classifieds board and there will not be one. linking a public listing to make a point is fine.
- if you work for a park, a dealer or an auction, say so under your name. posting as a customer when you are not one gets the account pulled.
- mods can move, merge or lock a thread and will leave a note saying why.
- accounts are by request while the bots are bad. ask on the contact page.
What it is not
not a park and not a dealer, and nobody here works for the tax office. when somebody on the board tells you what Iowa charges to register a motorhome or what the RIV fee is this year, check it against the office that actually collects it before you plan around the number.
